The Academic Program

The typical core curriculum includes Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies with specials and electives in Foreign Languages, Art, Music, and Physical Education.

Students who meet requirements will earn an accredited American High School Diploma.

Elementary School (K4-5th Grade)

At OISKL we believe in academic excellence. The elementary school is designed for our youngest students and is deisgned to build a strong foundation of knowledge, critical thinking skills, and leadership ability.

Middle School (6-8th Grade)

At OISKL we believe in academic excellence. The middle school academic program is challenging and is developed specifically for young adolescents. The middle school includes grades 6, 7, and 8.

THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Sixth Grade Academic Program

All students enrolled in sixth grade will have the following subjects for the entire school year:

*literature, *English, *science, *math, *social studies, *character education, and physical education.

Students in sixth grade may also choose to take an exploratory course of computer applications.

Seventh Grade Academic Program

All students enrolled in seventh grade will have the following subjects for the entire school year:

*literature, *English, *science, *math/pre-algebra or algebra 1,*social studies, and *character education. All students are required to take a year of PE.

Eighth Grade Academic Program

All students enrolled in eighth grade will have the following subjects for the entire school year:

*English/creative writing and speech, *science, *math/algebra or geometry, *social studies (US History), *foreign language study and *character education. All students are required to take a year of PE.

High School (9-12th Grade)

High School consists of four years of study, ninth through twelfth grade. To graduate from High School, each student must complete a minimum of 24 credits.One credit is awarded for each one year course that is completed. One-half credit is awarded for completion of one semester.

Graduation requirements


Additionally, the High School Curriculum will offer a full Advanced Placement program. Students who are successfully admitted and complete their AP course and testing will receive college credit from most US Universities. For more information about the Advances Placement program, visit here.
